This project was made for "Searching For A Star + Rising Star 2023: Design". Tasked with creating a game mechanic that can be used on its own and with the ability to become a part of an already existing game.
My brief includes a description of mechanics which alongside the video explains its uses.

Big Defuser, Little Defuser

Tiny Diffuser, Big Diffuser is a CO-OP Puzzle game based around bomb defusal, Using communication and gravity to defuse bombs together.
One player is shrunk and placed in the bomb the other is on the outside rotating the bomb to assist them.
Grapple Ball

Genre: Multiplayer, Sport
Grapple Ball is all about momentum. A 1v1 or 2v2 game where your goal is to throw a ball through 1 of 3 hoops on the opposing side of the playing field.
Use your grapple hook and wall running to build up speed, which in turn affects the ball's trajectory when thrown. However, you must watch out as a collision with other players' grapple line will have you drop the ball.

Design Pillars
The joy of a grappling hook
Inspired by the amazing fun it is to use a grappling hook to traverse the environment in Titanfall 2, this is the game's main focus. And is an incredible way to build momentum. The grappling hook line is also used to make players drop the ball also making it an aggressive action for the player both in terms of movement and attack.
Keeping Momentum
Giving the player tools to keep their speed is an integral part of gameplay. Level design is key to this, the placement of walls and grappling points as well as open spaces to move through. Momentum affects the ball enabling further throws.
Feel like a real sport
The map is even on both sides and players have access to the same tools, it's a competition of skill. Although not in-game another part I believe is integral is the crowd, chants in particular. As they are as much a part of the sport as the actual players.
Plans for the game
World Building
An online world run by AI has opened its door to humans. They want you to compete against each other for their entertainment. Control a digital robot in Grapple Ball and fight for the title of Grapple King.
Game Modes
Many variables in the game can be changed, game modes could vary from basic lower gravity to increasing how much the grapple line can stretch.
Air Dash
Used to give the player more control whilst in the air, changing the direction they are going in or adding a boost of speed.
The Dungeon Master

Genre: Narrative, FPS
A narrative FPS, you will be entering the dungeon of a dungeon master, taking their glove at the start the dungeon master questions your presence. Depending on your answers you will be placed into 1 of 3 dungeons. Keep an eye out as it seems Daedalus has built this dungeon at his behest.

A 2D sidescrolling platformer with a transforming twist.
Having fallen off the factory line and smashed into pieces you need to put yourself together again, for each missing part you collect you gain new abilities that will allow you to traverse the map.

A game created from a modded version of flappy bird.
In this endless runner play as a Carrier Pidgeon dodging bullets and gunfire in an attempt to deliver an important message.
